The main reason is that they failed to find purpose and strength in their career, failed to focus their minds, failed to define the importance of the chosen job, and failed to define the meaning of success.

Essentially, the choice of a career lies in oneself, not others. If you don’t like the job you are doing, but have a sense of purpose, passion, and patience, then we can feel comfortable with the job. In addition, if we want to improve our career, we need to improve other abilities outside of the job description that we are currently engaged in. For example, we can take over the tasks of our supervisors or others without dropping or replacing their positions. What we do can be seen as efforts to improve our soft skills.

“First, you can improve your agility by delivering positive results in challenging situations, dare to experiment and be comfortable with change, have good communication skills that enable working with a wide variety of people, obtain the ability to assess problems in unique and unusual ways by understanding the extent to which one knows his strengths and weaknesses, ” Steven said.

Steven continued, learning agility is divided into 2 clusters, namely agility enablers and agility inventory. There are 5 criteria for studying agility enablers, first, innovating – no fear of challenging the status quo. Second, performing – remaining calm in facing difficulties. Third, reflecting – communicating to reflect on other people’s experiences. Fourth, risking – placing yourself in challenging situations. Fifth, defending – being open to learning and resisting the temptation to become defensive in facing difficulties.

Meanwhile, learning agility inventory has 5 criteria, first, innovating (challenge yourself to find new solutions, make brainstorming new ideas as a habit). Second, performing (when faced with something new, look for similarities between the situations and the things you have done; ask questions to understand, not to be understood; stop for a moment when you feel stressed). Third, reflecting (find someone you trust to give open and honest feedback). Fourth, risking (take on new challenges that frighten you). Fifth, defending (viewing feedback as a gift that someone gave you and resisting the temptation to respond to feedback, especially during the first conversation).

“The best way to predict the future is to create it,” Steven quoted Abraham Lincoln at the end of his presentation.
