Dr. John Lynham merupakan Associate Professor pada Department of Economics, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa sekaligus Director for Graduate Ocean Policy Certificate Program pasa universitas yang sama. Ia juga merupakan Editorial Board untuk Journal of Environmental Economics & Management. Ia lulus tingkat doktoral bidang ekonomi dari University of California Santa Barbara. Saat ini ia sedang menjadi Visiting Scholar di Universitas Udayana, Bali. Bidang utama penelitiannya mencakup Environmental and Resource Economics, Experimental Economics, Behavioral Economics, dan Marine Ecology
