Falling Walls Lab is Coming to Jakarta

On Thursday, September 12th, 2019 “Falling Walls Lab is Coming to Jakarta” was held in Auditorium Soeria Atmaja, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI). “Falling Walls Lab is Coming to Jakarta”, which was organized by DAAD and International Office FEB UI, is an international forum for the next generation of outstanding innovators and creative thinkers. The event invited the participant to present their innovative research project, business model, or social initiative that will create positive impacts to science and society in a short 3 minutes delivery.
Honorable guests attended the event were Dr. Mathias Muller as Head of Division, Cultural and Press Affairs, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Simon Grimley as Regional representative of Euraxess ASEAN, Mr. Cristian Muller as Project Coordinator of Falling Walls Lab-Jakarta 2019, notable juries, and audiences.
The event opened with remarks from Dr. Beta Yulianita Gitaharie (Vice Dean of Education, Research and Student Affairs FEB UI) who explained the importance of collaboration among university, industry, government, NGO and society, or the Penta-helix. And Falling Walls Lab is one of means that brings together collaborators to solve problems in the society through their innovative research project. There were 20 presenters participated in the competition from various institution, including the participant from FEB UI. The most intriguing presenters of the locally hosted Falling Walls Labs will travel to the Lab Finale in Berlin, Germany on 8 November.
FEB UI is very proud and happy to have Falling Walls Lab on the campus. We also thank participants for joining, DAAD for the great cooperation and Juries for the availability and integrity. We hope this would trigger a discussion on how to create a remarkable idea to be applied for improving the world and society as well as make human being’s life more sustainable in the future.
