Joint Class between FEB UI and Singapore Management University
DEPOK – (18/09/2021) The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) is conducting a joint class with Singapore Management University (SMU) on the topic of Employer Branding for Human Resources. The class will run for a full semester, attended by 28 students from FEB UI and 30 students from SMU. The lecture is led by Prof. Paul Lim and Dr. Low Chin Heng from SMU and Muthia Pramesthi, M.M. and Mone Stepanus, PhD. from the FEB UI.
The first session began on the 1st of September 2021 via the Zoom Online Platform with the agenda of introduction between the students and faculty members, and explanation about the class and group projects that the students will embark upon. For the introduction part, students were divided into mixed groups of the FEB UI and SMU students. They were given six pictures that represent Indonesia and Singapore and asked to create a story from those pictures starting with “Once upon a time” and ending it with “happily ever after”.
The second part of the first lecture explained the syllabus and group projects, relating to cases from Tokopedia and Datacomm. Each of these companies have made their presentations on the 15th of September 2021 to the students regarding the group projects. The students will then present their group projects at the end of the semester.
The second lecture on the 8th of September 2021 discussed about Culture, Politics, and Economics in Indonesia and Singapore. The Indonesian case was delivered by Ms. Muthia, and the Singaporean case was explained by Dr. Low Chin Heng. The discussions among the students were quite lively and exciting.
The remaining sessions will be delivered in the upcoming months with topics about human resources, and there will be cultural group projects that the students should prepare and present in the class. (ndh/hjtp)
