DEPOK – University of Technology Sidney (UTS), Australia visited Department of Accounting FEB UI on Thursday (5/9) under the “2019 Bachelor of Accounting Asia Leadership Intensive” program. The representative from UTS was Mrs. Michelle Cook (Director in Bachelor of Accounting) and from International Internship was Mr. Angus Coverdale as the Program Manager. The session was opened by Dr. Ancella A. Hermawan, CA., MBA. as Head of Accounting Department FEB UI and was attended by Mr. Prodjo Sunarjanto, M.Ak. The main session of this visit is the lecturing session which was delivered by Mr. Prodjo about The Relevance of Accounting in Decision Making and Business Development. He explained about how accounting information can affect the customer decision making and the company development because to run a business you need data, records, reports, analysis, accurate information about assets, debts, liabilities, and profits. Since Mr. Prodjo is the President Director in PT. Adi Sarana Armada (ASSA Rent), he took the case study in that company. To conclude, he said that accounting is not about number but also about strategic planning.
We thank to Mr. Prodjo for the insightful lecture and also for UTS and International Internships for visiting us. Hopefully the presentation can give a new insight for the students. (Des)
