Global Network Week 2025: Explored the Human Dimension of Digital Transformation

Yogyakarta, 15 October 2025 — GNAM Week 2025, held by MM FEB UI as part of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), continued on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, with its third day hosted by MM Universitas Islam Indonesia (MM UII) in Yogyakarta.

The session, moderated by Dr. Arviansyah, featured insights from Dr. rer.soc.oec. Jaya Addin Linando, S.E., M.B.A., a faculty member at MM UII specializing in Human Resource Management.

Dr. Addin discussed the evolution of Human Resource Management (HRM) from HRM 1.0 to HRM 3.0, highlighting how the role of technology has reshaped the relationship between people, work, and organizations. While digitalization promotes efficiency and empowerment, it also brings challenges such as technostress—the strain of adapting to new digital tools—and the growing risk of employees feeling overly monitored or disconnected.

He encouraged organizations to reflect not only on how digital tools accelerate work but also on whether they make work more meaningful.

Dr. Addin explained that technology is only the visible part of transformation, while human motivation and adaptability form its foundation. He noted that many digital initiatives fail due to misalignment between people and organizational culture, creating a “socio-technical imbalance.”

Introducing Architecture HR 3.0 for Sustainability, he emphasized aligning human motivation with sustainable impact and highlighted Microsoft’s Productivity Score as a reminder of the need to balance digital efficiency with empathy, well-being, and human connection.

During the Q&A session, discussions explored topics such as the readiness of organizations for digital transformation, customer-oriented motivation, and the integration of ESG principles in corporate strategy.

Dr. Addin emphasized that digital transformation should be pursued strategically—only when it adds genuine value to an organization’s purpose and sustainability goals.

Day three of GNAM Week 2025 highlighted the human dimension of digital transformation, reminding participants that sustainable progress depends not only on technological advancement but also on cultivating ethical leadership, empathy, and a purpose-driven culture within organizations.

The third day of GNAM Week 2025 explored the human dimension of digital transformation, emphasizing that sustainable progress relies not only on technological advancement but also on ethical leadership, empathy, and a purpose-driven organizational culture.
