Ambidexterity in Family Companies Became the Topic of PPIM FEB UI Public Lectures

DEPOK – On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 the Postgraduate Program in Management Science (PPIM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia held an event related to the arrival of Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. who is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Western Australia with research in Corporate Entrepreneurship, Upper Echelon and CSR.


The activity began with a Paper Student Doctoral Presentation (S3) from the specialization of Strategic Marketing and Management. The activity was held at 09.00-12.00 WIB in room 405 FEB UI Postgraduate Building, Depok. Some students who took part in the presentation were Arif Nugroho (Strategic), Adhi Setyo Santoso (Strategic), and Haryani Primanti (Marketing). They received reviews and input directly from Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. and Arnold Japutra, Ph.D. as a moderator.

After the student presentation, the Chairperson of the PPIM Study Program, Prof. Dr. Irwan Adi Ekaputra entertains Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. and Arnold Japutra, Ph.D. also S3 students who attended the S3 paper presentation with lunch which was conducted in 201 Room of the FEB UI Postgraduate Building, Depok. At the lunchtime Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. and students discuss with each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. also took the time to tour the Faculty of Economics and Business accompanied by PPIM staff and PPIM S3 students. One of the places visited was the FEB UI Learning Resource Center.

At 14.00-16.00 WIB the activity continued with the main event, which was a Public Lecture which would discuss “Ambidexterity in Family Firms” delivered by Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. The event began with the introduction of the speaker from the Moderator, Arnold Japutra, Ph.D … The topic was interesting so that after Sebastiaan van Doorn, Ph.D. giving presentations to some of the participants present asking their questions so that an interesting discussion ensued.

The event was closed with a group photo and the presentation of a memento from the Chairperson of the PPIM Study Program in the form of puppets and agenda books. (Des)
