FEB UI Held English Camp for S1 FEB UI Students

Depok – The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia once again held a Basics Training Activities for Academic English Students for S1 FEB UI Students with the theme “English Camp 2020”. The event which lasted for several days, starting at 09.00 WIB until 15.30 WIB was held in 3 rooms namely in Room A.101, Room A12 and ESAC Class Room at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia, on Monday-Wednesday-Friday ( 4-20 / 01/2020).

This activity is inseparable from the efforts of the faculty in ensuring the achievement of Learning Goal for students of the FEB-UI S1 program, especially in the ability of English-language students as a competency that must be possessed by a FEB UI student. The purpose of this English Camp activity is to provide basic English debriefing for academic purposes related to the needs of reading & writing skills for students who must take courses in English with a minimum of 15 credit hours (12 meetings) in the future, and provide preparation for preparation directly for students before taking compulsory English MPK courses in Even Semester 2019/2020.
The workshop was begun by the opening of the Chair of the Department of Economics, FEB UI, Teguh Dartanto, S.E., M.Ec, Ph.D. “This event is an effort to improve student competency, the point is that language competence or communication skills in the current era is a crucial thing besides the ability of your field, you are good at economics / management / accounting, but if you can’t communicate well, you won’t survive. it means that communication skills are important, enjoying & happy learning “, concluded Teguh.

This workshop presented speakers from English lecturers at FEB UI, namely Djauhari Jatus Sulichah S.S., M.Sc, Rahmarni Sawitri S.S., M.Pd. and Drs. Sigit Rahmat Kurniadi S.E., Dipl.T, M.B.A. The material presented in this workshop was in the form of TOEFL skills such as structure, grammer, reading, and listening.

The speaker invited all participants of this Workshop to work on the questions together starting from the pre test from reading to listening test. Participants are also given tips on doing assignments such as writing matters and how to do the listening test well. It is hoped that this English Camp activity can improve students’ language competence even better.
