DEPOK – In equipping and motivating students to transfer education at overseas partner universities, both single degree and dual degree pathways, the International Special Study Program (KKI) FEB UI held a January 2020 Student Batch Send-Off which took place at the KKI Auditorium, Building B, on Wednesday (1/22/2020).
Send Off Activity is a routine activity every semester for KKI FEB UI students to release students in study assignments at overseas partner universities. Please note, the KKI FEB UI Send-Off period January 2020, sent a total of 91 students consisting of 79 students for single degree & 12 students for dual degree. In this period, Hanyang University became the destination university with the most single degree pathways receiving 31 students, and the University of Queensland became the destination university with the most dual degree pathways receiving 11 students.
In its activity report, Chair of the KKI FEB UI Study Program, Isfandiary Djafaar said KKI FEB UI students were experiencing significant developments over the years and had high quality and quality in competing with others. Evidently, KKI FEB UI graduate students have many careers in leading companies, industries, businesses both nationally and globally. In addition, students also make many achievements during their single / dual degree education at partner universities abroad. This shows that the global world sees the quality of KKI FEB UI students.
“When going to college at a partner university, they will face obstacles including adapting to a new, mental and academic environment. This year, there are 91 students going to partner universities, consisting of 79 single degree students & 12 dual degree students. We say goodbye to the students of KKI FEB UI, keep the good name of FEB UI & Indonesia, and fellow friends must help and supervise each other,” Isfandiary Djafaar’s message to students.
The Head of the Student Activity Center (PKM) FEB UI, M. Irfan Syaebani gave a speech that PKM always encouraged students to be actively involved not only in intracuricular activities but also in extracurricular activities. In fact, soft skills are formed from extracurricular activities such as the ability to communicate, negotiate, and how to solve problems / conflicts. For KKI FEB UI students are the luckiest students, because they have the opportunity to join / mingle with other students from various cultural backgrounds in the destination country.
“If, you study at a partner university abroad, make the most of it to get along with foreign students so that they enrich soft skills, build communication & networking. Thus, students are expected to become a balanced Kuliah Kura-Kura (Lecture Meeting Meeting) ’to enrich intellectuals and add insight and experience,” Irfan Syaebani’s message to students.
Meanwhile, students were also motivated by their senior experience, namely Rizkia Darmawan, 2016 Management Department student, a single degree representative who has transferred for 1 semester at Hanyang University, shared the experience that Koreans are open, but we have to start it and they are very smart and willing to learn high. From the academic side it is actually almost the same as KKI FEB UI depending on the course and lecturer respectively.
Then, Adimas Bagus Wisesa, 2016 Department of Economics student representatives from Dual Degree who is continuing lectures at partners, the University of Queensland added the sharing of experiences that when starting International Students there what happened was a lecturer once teaching 500 students amounted to a large room. From the academic side there is no attendance, but if we do not attend lectures that occur we will not understand the material even though we can review the video provided.
In addition, if a student experiences a down time in the middle of a lecture, then there are facilities available to devote problems experienced. In terms of representatives of Emiria Syarfuan’s parents from Emirio Syarfuan students in the Accounting Department by gaining the highest GPA for 5 semesters & the Dual Degree scholarship to the University of Queensland gave a message of hope that this departure makes students independent, more mature, and hopefully runs well & smoothly. So, graduation at UI will be jointly one generation.
This activity ended with the announcement of 4 scholarship-winning students, namely Muhammad Ilham Ramzy (Management) transfer to the University of Queensland, Emirio Syarfuan (Accounting) transfer to the University of Queensland, Karina Yasianti (Accounting) transfer to the University of Birmingham, and Fathan Amartya Mahardika ( Management) transfer to the University of Birmingham. Then, the announcement of the 5th highest GPA for 5 semesters, namely Fathan Amartya Mahardika (Management), Dhelya Natasha Putri Rachman (Accounting), Emirio Syarfuan (Accounting), Muhammad Ilham Ramzy (Management), and Jocelyn Vania Widjaja (Management).
