Faris Abdurrachman, a student of the Department of Economics, was chosen as the main student (Mapres) of 2020 FEB UI. He was chosen after competing with four other finalists through various stages of the selection process. First, psychological assessment, discussion and interview. Second, the evaluation of the paper and presentation. Third, the assessment of the Curriculum Vitae consists of achievements that have been achieved, activeness in the organization, and capabilities.
According to Faris, various awards and achievements in academic and non-academic fields were the main evaluations as he was chosen as Mapres of FEB UI 2020. Previously, Faris won 1st place in the IMF Fund Challenge 2020, 2nd place in the Maybank Go-Ahead Challenge 2020, SNU DB Group Business Case Competition and many more. In addition, he excels in the psychological test, discussion and interview stages. His writing entitled, “Warung 4.0: Retail UMKM Empowerment Program through Integrated Online-Offline Ecosystem” is closely related to the empowerment of stalls and grocery stores that currently play an important role in Indonesia.
For Faris, the support of his parents was very much appreciated, as well as his friends who had encouraged his enthusiasm to attend the mapres. Finally, it is the support of the mapres committee that reminds the finalists in the selection period and, always forgives if there are delays and inaccuracies between finalists.
Faris’s impression, “Do not look at the Mapres event only as an arena for achievement, but also see as a whole as a privilage for us in creating an idea that will later be useful for the community. That is one of my motivations to attend this mapres event, my ideas can be developed and used to empower and improve the lives of others, “said Faris. (Hjtp)
