Arief Wibowo, Chairman of MM Iluni opened the webinar, followed by a keynote speech by drg. Kartini Rustandi, M. Kes. In her speech, Kartini conveyed the message of the Minister of Health, “It takes thoughtful insights, such as challenges, in providing health services from medical / non-medical personnel in serving patients. The safety of service effectiveness is affected by the accuracy and handling of treatment. Adaptation of new habits in health facilities needs to be done creatively, innovatively and utilizing technology appropriately, as well as prioritizing excellent service. Health care security is strongly influenced by staff and patient compliance and service effectiveness. The ability to respond appropriately and quickly and the ability to adapt to change are the keys so that we can weather  this pandemic well.” as stated by the Minister of Health, dr. Terawan Agus Putranto.

Iskandar Suhardi, as the first resource person, explained how good health facility management involves 3 things. First, in terms of health workers, such as providing health services, minimizing risks and availability of complete personal protective equipment. Second, in terms of facilities, such as providing health services with the availability of complete facilities and third, from the patient side, getting optimal service and feeling safe while visiting the hospital.

Furthermore, Amira Ganis, MBA, as the second resource person, shared her experiences in implementing managing health facilities at Brawijaya Hospital, such as modifying      communications with the public by adopting multimedia, conveying information with social media (electronic media platforms). In terms of facilities, such as designing service layouts for the safety of patients, doctors and staff, and focusing on adapting processes and adopting technology, to improve efficiency and minimize the “pain points” faced by patients, doctors and staff.

Eddi Junaidi, SpOG, SH, M.Kes in his presentation suggested to change health technology services using telecommunications technology, which allows access to health services from primary to tertiary services, so that there is no discrimination between rural and urban communities in terms of health services.

The insights from the speakers can hopefully provide proper management of health facilities in facing the new normal era, so that they are still able to provide optimal health services and provide a sense of security and comfort for patients, medical and paramedical personnel as well as human resources involved in health services in order to remain capable to provide good performance even in unfavorable conditions such as during the current pandemic.
