DEPOK – (28/8/2020) Management Institute (Lembaga Manajemen-LM), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia held a webinar series, entitled “Virtual Assessment: An Alternative Model of Assessment Implementation in the Digital Age”, on Friday (28/8/2020).
The resource person for this webinar is Dyah Prameshwary, M.Psi., Senior Consultant of LM FEB UI, moderated by Yuli Setiono, S.E., M.Sc., Senior Consultant of LM FEB UI.
Dyah stated that virtual assessment in the implementation of assessments in the digital era has advantages, namely by saving transportation and accommodation costs, being able to continue in situations with minimal social contact, and expanding market share (increasing the volume of work). However, it is necessary to consider the readiness of implementing virtual assessments in terms of infrastructure (devices, networks / internet connections), personnel involved (including understanding and mastery of the digital devices, systems and platforms used), briefings and guidance for participants and all personnel (assessors, hosts), and helpdesk and information technology (IT) support.
There are 2 virtual assessment models, namely model 1, where the test participants are in their respective homes / locations and use private facilities (laptop and internet connection). Model 2, where participants come to branch offices or regional representatives and use the facilities (laptops and internet connection) owned by the company / office. The steps include preparation, programming, testing and evaluation, and implementation.
Dyah stated that “Basically, in the preparatory stage for the LM e-assessment, the process starts by: the company sends a list of participants, LM FEB UI sends a test account invitation and a Gmeet link via participant email, activates accounts in email, and participants will then have an active account and a Gmeet link.
Then, on the first day in the LM e-assessment stage, participants are connected online at Gmeet, access the Gmeet link, take the test and log in the test application.
Meanwhile, on the second day, participants have a Gmeet link, access the Gmeet link, and are connected online on Gmeet. “.
Dyah continued by explaining the principles which are always applied by LM FEB UI for every assessment, namely accuracy (paying attention to the accuracy of details, both methods and reports, and ensure that only candidates who match the qualifications will be recommended to the company), confidentiality (guarantee the confidentiality of examination results by ensuring that the data is only submitted to relevant parties), validity (utilize tools that measure the required aspects of the candidate, according to the characteristics of the job and company), independency (ensure that the results of the examination meet the recommended qualifications, free of influence from any party), and innovation (always use the latest tools to ensure the speed and accuracy of the candidate assessment process).
