DEPOK – (22/9/2020) PT Danareksa donated 15 portable handwashing stations to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI). The donation, which was made to coincide with FEB UI’s 70th anniversary celebration, was part of Danareksa’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and efforts to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission in public places. The portable handwashing stations were handed over symbolically in a ceremony held at the lobby of the Dekanat building on Tuesday (22/9/2020) by Danareksa Corporate Secretary Putu Dewika Angganingrum to FEB UI Secretary Herda JT Pradsmadji.
In her speech, Herda said that FEB UI highly appreciated Danareksa for making the donation as part of the efforts to handle and break the chain of Covid-19 infections at FEB UI’s campuses in Depok and Salemba. The portable handwashing stations are expected to encourage people who visit FEB UI to follow the health protocol, including by washing their hands at the portable handwashing stations donated by Danareksa to maintain their personal hygiene. “On behalf of FEB UI officials, we thank Danareksa for donating the portable handwashing stations. We wish Danareksa an even bigger success, growth, health and drive during the pandemic,” Herda said.
Meanwhile, Putu Dewika said, “The donation is part of the company’s CSR activity inspired by our experience in the field. In traditional markets, we have problems washing our hands because we have to turn off the faucet, which means our clean hands could be exposed to the virus. These portable handwashing stations have foot pedals to dispense soap and water, so there is no need to touch the faucet by hand.” The stations also come with instructions on how to wash your hands according to the health protocol, such as releasing water and soap using the foot pedal. Danareksa also donated portable handwashing stations to traditional markets and other universities, Indonesian Military’s health centers, as well as other education and training institutions.
“We hope that with these portable handwashing stations all FEB UI’s lecturers, students and employees will have easier access to clean water to wash their hands before or after an activity. That way, they could support FEB UI’s lecturers, students and members in their activities during the pandemic,” Putu said at the end of her remarks.
The handover of the donation was followed by the signing of the record of donation, group photo and a visit to the locations of the portable handwashing stations for a demonstration. Ten of the portable handwashing stations will be installed in the Depok campus and five in the Salemba campus. (hjtp)
