FEB UI Celebrates 70 Years of Anniversary Online, “Together, Innovating, Beneficial”

DEPOK – (11/25/2020) Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) held a major event for the Gemilang Online Dies Natalis with the theme “Together, Innovating, Beneficial” on Wednesday (25/11/2020) via a Zoom meeting. The event was attended online by nearly 500 participants, including professors, lecturers, staff, students and guests.
Quite a few programs were included in the Zoom event., Among others, the playback of the Genderang UI song, reports from the Event Committees and Advisors, prayers, video presentation of the Deans of FEB UI over a 70 year span and the achievements of FEB UI in 2020, cutting the tumpeng ceremony, and presentation videos of songs from class alumni representatives.
Advisor and Person in Charge for the 70th Anniversary of FEB UI, Arief Wibisono Lubis, Ph.D., and Herda J.T Pradsmadji, M.Pd., reported that the 70th Anniversary celebration was funded by the Faculty funds and donations from all parties who have special bonds with FEB UI.
In commemorating the 70th Anniversary of FEB UI, the committee worked from September to November 2020, and carried out activities that are integrated with the FEB UI Higher Education Tri Dharma philosophy.
In the Scientific Field, these activities consisted of (1) Scientific Talk Show entitled “CEO Start-Up of Businesses That Survived during the Covid-19 Pandemic” which was open for the public and presented young alumni figures who run startup businesses; (2) Talk Show on “Financial Management Strategies during the Covid-19 Pandemic” for FEB UI Members; (3) Public Lecture on “The Power of Cooperation and Innovation in Overcoming the Covid-19 Pandemic” by the Minister of Research and Technology/Head of National Agency for Research and Innovation, also alumni of FEB UI, Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Ph.D.; (4) Public Lecture on “Financial Policy and Supervision in Overcoming the Covid-19 Pandemic” by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Ph.D., alumni of FEB UI; (5) Scientific Publication and Citations Award for Lecturers; and (6) Community Service Award for Lecturers.
Meanwhile, in the Non-Scientific Field, the activities consisted of (1) Procurement of Portable Wash Basin from PT Danareksa Tbk; (2) Award for Best FEB UI Educational Personnel; (3) Best FEB UI Canteen Partner Award; (4) Award for Retired Lecturers and Education Personnel of FEB UI; (5) Inauguration of MM FEB UI Class and Auditorium presented by PT Pegadaian Persero Tbk; (6) Inauguration and Renovation of the FEB UI Canteen, presented by PT Paragon Technology and Innovation; (7) Renovation of MM FEB UI Classroom presented by Bank BCA; (8) Donation and Collection Box Activities; (9) and Distribution of Birthday Souvenirs for FEB UI Residents.
In his speech, Acting Dean of FEB UI, Dr. Beta Yulianita Gitaharie said, “The changing times require education to adapt too, especially after the pandemic. Everything becomes something new that must be investigated or maintained for its sustainability. In this VUCA (Vulnerable, Uncertain, Complex, Agile) condition, FEB UI is also required to produce graduates who survive a period full of changes, uncertainty, complexity, and confusion.”
She continued, “Of course we still have a lot to do to support the successful IndependentCampus Curriculum program in the future, producing graduates who are not only smart academically, but also able to work together, collaborate, make decisions, be creative, and survive shocks. We are certain that we can do it, because history has proven that FEB UI has been able to face changes in the past and moved on. Together, we innovate and provide benefits, in accordance with the tagline of our 70th Anniversary.″
The Lecturers of the Accounting program, representing lecturers of FEB UI, sang together the Sayap-Sayap Garuda song (created by Isnaeni Achdiyat, an alumnus and lecturer of Accounting). Congratulations to the Anniversary from the Minister of Finance, Minister of Research and Technology/National Agency for Research and Technology, state officials, from the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations and the Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein on the screen. Those who are also FEB alumni, gave a very deep impression in their words and hopes for FEB UI. In addition to congratulations from the Rector, MWA and Chair of the UI Professors Council, the Deans in the UI environment, FEB UI lecturers and students also gave enthusiasm and hope in commemorating the Anniversary.
During this event, Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs of FEB UI, announced 3 award categories in the scientific field, namely the Best Lecturer Award based on scientific publications and citations won by Dr. Djoni Hartono (IE), RR. Ratih Dyah Kusumastuti, Ph.D., (Management), and Dr. Sylvia Veronica NPS (Accounting). Second, the Best Lecturer Award based on Community Service won by Dr. Nining I. Soesilo (IE), Aswin Dewanto Hadisumarto, S.E., MIA. (Management), and Dr. Dodik Siswantoro (Accounting). Third, the winners of the Sadli Endowed Professorship Award were Viverita, Ph.D. (Management) and Sugiharso Safuan, Ph.D. (IE).
Celebrating its70th Anniversary, FEB UI also made donations to the public, and on the other hand, FEB UI also received assistance for renovating classrooms and canteens from Paragon, Pegadaian, and Bank BCA. As a representative of the sponsor, Miftahuddin Amin (Paragon) said that Paragon fully supports the FEB UI canteen renovation project at a cost of Rp 400 million, as an implementation of the company’s useful values. In addition, Paragon opens opportunities for FEB UI students and lecturers to run apprenticeship programs or internships, as company support for government programs in education, namely the Independent Campus Curriculum.
Dr. Gede Harja Wasistha, CMA., Deputy Dean for Resources, Venture and General Administration of FEB UI, announced three winning categories, namely Best Tendik (Educational Staff), won by Devi Sefutri Widy from PPIM, Sintani Sari Aristi from the Management Department, Wasjid from Management Extension, Mohammad Muadin from Fastur, and Dyah from the Demographic Institute. Second, the Polling of the Favorite Canteen at FEB UI was won by Sugiman’s Ayam Bakar Iin Kiosk. Third, the Best Canteen Partner was won by Kristiyan Triwidianto Adi’s Poci Tea Shop.
Wasistha also invited participants to pray and convey their appreciation to Lecturers and Students who died in 2020, including Prof. Budhi Paramita, S.E., MBA., (Professor of FEB UI), Thomas H. Secokusumo (Lecturer in Accounting), Prof. J. B. Sumarlin, Ph.D. (Professor of FEB UI), Paul Capelle (Former Head of the Accounting Department and Lecturer at FEB UI), Dr. Maddaremmeng A. Panennungi (IE Lecturer), Siti Adiprigandari Adiwoso, Ph.D., (IE Lecturer), Teguh Iman Maulana, M.S.Ak., M.Sc. (Accounting Lecturer,), Aisyah Nur Ramadhani, (Tendik MPKP), Era Safarina Rahmayanti (Tendik PPIM), and Sukamto Eko Sanjoyo (Tendik Salemba Security Guard).
Furthermore, Wasistha expressed an appreciation for Retired Lecturers and Tendik 2020, namely lecturers Kahlil Rowter, S.E., M.A., 31 Years of Service, Mafrizal Heppy, Ak., M.B.A. (21 years), Dr. Maddaremmeng A. Panennungi (18 years), Thomas Honggo Secokusumo, S.E., M.B.A. (32 Years), Maria Agriva, S.E., M.Sc., M.S.E. (13 years), Tendik Caca (35 years), Suryono, S.Sos. (28 Years), Pribadi (33 Years), Samiyun, S.E. (31 years), Raden Dana Sumarna (29 years), Amaruloh (30 years), T. Mulyana (38 years), Ilyas (31 years), Suhartono (26 years), Ismiaty, A.Md. (37 years), and Sujarwo (21 years).
