I hope this event can be a memory for all of you,” Teguh said at the end of his speech.

The same thing was also conveyed by Prof. Sabina Alkire Co-Founder of AF Method, Director of OPHI, the University of Oxford said in 1965 space astronaut Alexa Leonov reflected that the earth is small, like the moon so touching close to our home that it must be maintained like a sacred relic. Speaking from the international space station to the leaders of 193 countries in New York, they agreed to set sustainable development goals for the earth. In September 2015, Heads of State from around the world committed to achieving 17 sustainable development goals in the next 15 years, including ending poverty in all its forms.

According to Prof. Sabina, thanks to the collaboration between OPHI Oxford University and FEB UI to organize the Summer School, it is very helpful for participants from home and abroad to gain skills and capabilities in multidimensional poverty measurement from professional staff of national statistical offices or government ministries dealing with poverty alleviation, professionals from international development agencies, academics, and doctoral students.

Operating across three time zones, the Summer School allowed 82 participants from 29 countries (attending offline and online) to experience face-to-face learning at FEB UI Campus for two weeks to learn and explore the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI).

“This two-week Summer School meetings will be an experience and add insight for the participants. Hopefully, the Summer School participants from each country can realize their dream in the G-20 Presidency to make the world free from poverty by using their knowledge and experience. Moreover, Indonesia will be the host of the G20 Presidency,” Prof. Sabina concluded in her session.
