The topic raised in the dissertation entitled “Enhancing Innovation Performance in Disruptive Environment through Strategic Entrepreneurship Process”. Indra chose this topic because he had been in the field of innovation for a long time. “I have seen a lot. I have worked in several established companies like that. How do established companies in this disruptive era, whose changes are very fast. It can be relevant, can improve the performance of innovation. What about the influential factors that can still grow and create value for its stakeholders. “
Adjusting the time between work and study becomes a challenge for Indra. “That’s what often collides, so yes. Because that’s the point between work with it, but that’s the point we try to continue to maximize with what is there, time and so on. To finish this. And thank God finally finished today. (Correct) I take the wisdom is that I enjoy this process, because that is the end, the process is also for me too, how can I learn and be more useful in real work. Indeed, this is very challenging, so I just feel that something has begun and in my opinion, this essential must also be completed, even with the limited time available ”
This study aims to examine variables to improve innovation performance in a disruptive environment by applying the entrepreneurship strategy process. “I use a model that combines entrepreneurship and strategic management. Entrepreneurship is about how to be creative and how to look for new opportunities, or opportunities seeking activities. While strategic management is in the context of seeking excellence or advantages seeking. The combination of these two things is called strategic entrepreneurship so I offer a strategic model of entrepreneurship process like that, combined with collaborative innovation because innovation in the current era must also embrace great ideas that exist outside the company. Therefore, the strategic management run by the company but added collaborative innovation with the start-up. It is expected that with the combination of innovation flows that are configured within the company that is carried out with hybrids, there will be exploration and exploitation combined with the flow of innovation from external through collaborative start-ups which are expected to improve the innovation performance of established companies. “
This study shows that opportunity-seeking activities, entrepreneurial culture has no direct impact on formulating innovation strategy. While in advantage-seeking activities, collaborative innovation has no direct impact on configuring key innovation. The entrepreneurial leadership is essential in formulating an innovation strategy. The leadership variable has multicollinearity with an entrepreneurial culture, which is indicated by the relationship between the two who support each other. In implementing an innovation strategy, the configuring core innovation capabilities that combine exploring opportunities and exploiting the firm’s advantage enhance the innovation performance.
Thus, the Leadership Council of the Doctoral Promotion Session decided, Indra Utoyo was declared to graduate with the title of Very Satisfactory and succeeded in getting his 268th Doctorate in Management. Congratulations to Dr. Indra Utoyo! (Des)
