Toto Pranoto: Minimizing Potential Conflicts of Interest, BUMN Must Strengthen Good Coverage Governance
The reshuffle of BUMN has been carried out. There are many alumni of PT. Bank Mandiri Tbk in the composition of new management has many potentials to cause new conflicts of interest. Some Bank Mandiri Alumni are placed at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk., PT PLN (Persero), PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (Antam), and Bank Mandiri itself.
BUMN observer and head of the FEB UI Management Institute, Toto Pranoto, said that the BUMN talent pool is currently quite focused on Bank Mandiri, thereby increasing the potential for conflicts of interest.
“This potential can happen if the appointed BUMN directors cannot work independently. The implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) must be strong, including rejecting intervention from any party if it is considered potentially detrimental to the BUMN. explained Toto Pranoto, Tuesday (12/24)
Nevertheless, Toto assessed that the selection process of BUMN officials has been quite good. Moreover, bankers from Bank Mandiri have been known for their high work ethic.
“Robby Djohan’s success in fixing the performance of PT. Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, is also still remembered by people,” said Toto.
