The dissertation raised by Promovendus, entitled “Factors Influencing Heuristic Strategic Decision Making Process on Project Output (Empirical Study on Construction SMEs in Papua)”. The strategic decision making process in a company is the most crucial stage in the company’s sustainability.
External and internal factors become elements that need to be anticipated in the decisions formed from this process. Changes in rules from government, industry, company resources, even local communities are relevant things to consider in making a strategic decision that is heuristically processed so that it affects the project output.
“At present, research on the strategic decision-making process is still dominated by large companies. Although some studies are able to capture the process in small and medium-sized companies the context of developed countries is still dominant in the development of the theory of strategic decision making processes, but the influence of external factors is still limited to the industrial context, “said Jean Richard.
The lack of research into social and governmental contexts as a reason for further examining the effect of both on heuristic strategic decision making. “Based on the results of the study it was found that the company’s resources and government characteristics influence the strategic decision making process heuristically,” he added.
He added, besides that, all factors except the local community had a significant influence on project output. The role of heuristics provides renewal in the theory of the strategic decision making process. Government characteristics, and company resources have a positive effect on the strategic decision making process heuristically.
Whereas the environment and local communities obtain insignificant relationships with heuristic strategic decision making processes. “Furthermore, what is most important in this study is that the decision-making process heuristically was found to significantly affect project outcomes. On the other hand, this study found that the characteristics of government and company resources are negatively related to the project output of construction companies, “he concluded.
Thus, the Leadership Council of the open session of doctoral promotion decided, Jean Richard (1506776963) was declared to graduate with the title of Satisfaction and succeeded in obtaining the 281th Doctorate in Strategic Management. Congratulations to Dr. Jean Richard! (Des)
