UI’s tracer study can be accessed via smartphones
Universitas Indonesia’s Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations has conducted an online tracer study (TSUI) since 2010. The study is conducted to trace UI alumni and obtain a picture of their transition from the world of higher education to life after university, particularly the world of work and advanced studies. TSUI provides data and information on the learning outcomes, including a picture of the transition from the world of higher education to the world of post-graduation, particulary the world of work and advanced studies. The time graduates spend waiting to join the workforce, the distribution of workplaces, and vertical alignment (education and job match) and horizontal alignment (a match between major and type of job), as well as information on acquisition and utilization of competence are the key information for formulating policies on career development and improvements in learning inputs and processes.
The data and information collected by TSUI also help students and prospective graduates make better plans for the future. UI’s position as the best university in Indonesia is attributed in part to the successful careers of its alumni.
Starting this year, TSUI uses new, more user friendly online research tools that can be accessed via desktop computers and smartphones. Respondents can access the questionnaires easily via several platforms, such as Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and android, allowing them to fill out the questionnaires anywhere and anytime without the need for a desktop computer or laptop.
TSUI 2019, which targets UI students who graduated in 2017, was conducted between July-September 2019. An invitation that included a link to the questionnaire and PIN was sent by email to 2017 graduates from all levels of study (Vocational, Undergraduate, Graduate, and PhD) and all variants (Regular, Extension, Parallel and International Graduate Program) could respond to the invitation.
