DEPOK – (11/11/2020) Prof. Dr. Akhmad Syakhroza, Ph.D., Inspector General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, also a  Professor of FEB UI, was a resource person for the online Webinar Series of the FEB UI Management Institute, on “Modernization and Digitalization of APIP in the Context of Consultation and Strengthening Prevention”, with moderator Robert Porhas L. Tobing, SE, MBA., Senior Associate of LM FEB UI, on Wednesday (11/11/2020).

In his presentation, Akhmad Syakhroza said that digital transformation for the modernization and digitization of the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) is a journey not a destination. There remains room for continuous innovation and rapid response to change. The digital transformation carried out by the Inspectorate General (Itjen) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, consists of leadership styles, changing mindsets, work culture, communication patterns, excellent service, skills and knowledge, audit orientation, audit reports, organizational goals, and transparency of audit results.

Efforts to build a digital culture in the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources began with using innovative digital recruitment methods for CPNS (Civil Servant Candidates) talents (with digital literacy and digital savvy prerequisites, carried out with digital talent scouting), training to improve and hone digital skills (skills training, exchange between digital talents to companies to provide new insights in the field of internet of things), and self-assessment of digital competency standards for civil servants in the Inspectorate General (digital competence as a complement to competency standards that must be owned by a civil servant in the form of managerial, technical and socio-cultural).

Digital transformation has very little to do with technology, it has more to do with the people involved. We can quickly and easily buy the latest technology, but the adaptability of the technology in the future really depends on the availability of the best talents who are always adaptive to these changes.

“Thus, digital transformation also implies continuous improvement, in order for it to combine the skills and capabilities of the next generation, so that agility becomes an intrinsic part of the operational model of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. So, to put this into reality, the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will build a War Room for Supervision and Digitalization of Supervision” Syakhroza said in closing the session.
