This assistance and advocacy endeavor to gain access to capital has actually been done since 2020. In the form of training (managing groups and finances, making proposals, to post-catch fish processing techniques), facilitation with various relevant agencies and delivery of fishing gear assistance from PT ASTRA Internasional. The photos above are of the ceremony when representatives of fishermen groups from the two villages received capital assistance and the process of disbursing capital assistance through local banks. Next, the facilitator (not shown) and the fisherman group representatives went to the bank to draw the funds (figures 3 and 4).

It is hoped that the success of the fishermen groups in Bara and Waepure villages fostered by UKMC FEB UI in receiving capital assistance from LPMUKP KKP can be an example for fishing groups in other villages to also develop along the same lines.
