DEPOK – (17/6/2022) In order to give appreciation for devotion, contribution, and dedication, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) held a “Çintavhati Poerwoto” Farewell, which took place in a hybrid manner at Soeria Atmadja Auditorium, FEB UI Deanery Building, Friday (17/6/2022).

The activity began with remarks from the Head of the FEB UI Student Affairs Office, Dr. Irfani Fithria Ummul Muzayanah, explaining that FEB UI is reorganizing to improve its reputation in the form of student counseling services which are currently coordinated under the Office of Student Affairs (KKM) to be more generalized and standardized. FEB UI realizes that mental health issues are an integral part, and we must consider them. As a form of innovation, FEB UI will cooperate with the UI Faculty of Psychology to provide counseling services from Professional Psychologists to assist counseling at the Faculty.

“On behalf of KKM FEB UI, I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Cintavhati. Of course, our gratitude is not enough to replace all the time, energy, thoughts, and sacrifices Mrs. Cintavhati has made for FEB UI so far. We also hope that you will still be pleased if we want to learn, ask questions or even consult regarding student counseling in the future. Always be healthy and enjoy your retirement,” said Fani.

The same thing was also conveyed by the Dean of FEB UI, Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D. Teguh said, “FEB UI held this event as a sign of appreciation for the devotion, contribution, and dedication made so far for FEB UI. The event initially began in the Djokosoetono room with the arrival of the Deputy Minister of RI, Prof. Suahasil Nazara, Ph.D., to give appreciation directly to Mrs. Cinta.

Teguh admitted that he got to know Ibu Cinta more when he was Head of Study Program, Head of Department, Deputy Dean, Dean’s Officer and felt comfortable, because all matters of student problems could be resolved. Over time, an educational organization cannot always depend on Ibu Cinta. This is because Mrs. Cinta has entered old age. So, FEB UI must transform and regenerate to get out of the comfort zone.

Teguh continued, Mrs. Cinta is a legendary figure for FEB UI, because thanks to her contribution and dedication and passion, she overcomes various student problems. A person can be said to be a legend because of his love for work and people / students. We hope that after the farewell, Mrs. Cinta will remain a master teacher for FEB UI. Quoting the hadith of the prophet ‘The best man is long-lived and good in deeds’. “I believe that many students have a debt of gratitude to Mrs. Cinta because she has saved them from the brink of destruction to successfully pursue education at FEB UI through love and dedicated assistance. Thank you to Mrs. Cinta and enjoy your days,” Teguh said.

Furthermore, Vice Dean 1 for Education, Research, and Student Affairs of FEB UI, Arief Wibisono Lubis, Ph.D., expressed his deepest gratitude for Mrs. Cinta’s dedication to FEB UI. Many successful people have graduated from FEB UI, thanks to Mrs. Cinta’s guidance. We can see from the students who previously experienced various problems in their studies that they could survive and graduate from FEB UI. All of that is thanks to the services of Mrs. Cinta. After retiring, hopefully, the friendship that has been going well can always be maintained so that FEB UI can still consult with Mrs. Cinta in solving various student problems.

Coordinator of the Student Wellness Center, FEB UI Student Affairs Office, also Mrs. Çintavhati Poerwoto’s successor, Dr. Putri Mega Desiana, said that academic problems are not because they are not smart, but because they lack confidence, are unable to adjust, or other reasons. Some students can solve their problems independently with the support of friends or assisted by Academic Advisors. At FEB UI, students who experience problems like this can be handled by the counseling unit, which Cintavhati has managed.

Mega expressed his respect and gratitude for the long service of Mrs. Cinta, who has helped many students reconnect their hopes that were almost cut off and relieved the hearts of parents who entrusted their children with studying at FEB UI. We will not forget your dedication. May Allah give you the best reward for all that you do.

“When I was asked to help this counseling unit, I felt that I would not be able to replace the role of Ibu Cinta during this time, but I intend to do my best. “I am sure she has a lot of knowledge and experience during this service. I ask permission to continue to get valuable advice and lessons from her to guide me in carrying out this noble task. Counseling services will later collaborate with the UI Faculty of Psychology to follow up on non-academic students who need further treatment. Once again, please support and pray for blessings from all parties of FEB UI. Thank you for the trust given. I hope I can carry out this mandate,” said Mega.

Head of Student Guidance and Counseling of FEB UI, Dra. Çintavhati Poerwoto shared that as a lecturer, she always tries to make her class comfortable by being familiar with students, knowing their names one by one so that they feel cared for and understand what is being taught. This familiarity makes students come to her to ‘vent’ about academic problems and their personal lives. From there, he was moved to help them overcome these problems. Over time, this became a habit for students to come to him so that their problems could be resolved.

Dr. Çintavhati stated that in the early 1990s, the Faculty of Psychology UI held a training or upgrading of counseling for lecturers from all faculties of UI. Two people were appointed from FEB UI, Dr. Dorodjatun Kuntjoro Jakti, Ph.D. (not yet a professor), and herself. The training included counseling practices done in groups that took a long time. Here, he learned a lot and was talented because he often helped students solve problems. It was only when Prof. Djatun became the Dean of FEB UI and was already involved in counseling that counseling began as a mandatory activity at FEB UI.

Çintavhati continued, “I would like to apologize to FEB UI alumni who have consulted me. If there are things that make you hurt because of actions too hard, even to the point of ‘anger,’ I feel I have to act like that to be able to solve the problem. As for my happiness in work, I can help and solve student problems so that they can complete their studies well.”

In undergoing struggles in your life, one of which is studying, you need self-confidence, responsibility, time management, and socialization. The problems of FEB UI students are not only from academics but also from the family, which is the ‘source of the problem.’ Academic problems can be solved if the ‘source of the problem’ can be resolved. Counseling at FEB UI is an activity that fosters students in carrying out academic activities that are closely related to study programs, lecturers personally, and the Education Bureau in terms of Faculty regulations. For this reason, close cooperation is needed between the Head of BKM and these units.

“I would like to thank the lecturers and officials at FEB UI for their good cooperation during my time. Thank you also for the testimonials that were given offline, online, and on Whatsapp messages that touched me very much. They mean so much to me. Goodbye to all citizens of FEB UI. May FEB UI continues to advance and remain a leading educational institution in Indonesia,” Çintavhati concluded in her remarks.

The event was closed with testimonies from representatives of lecturers, students, BEM Adkesma Department, and Tendik FEB UI.
