The meeting took place offline at the Djokosoetono Room, Dean’s Building, FEB UI Depok Campus, on Wednesday (13/7).

Also present were Arief Wibisono Lubis, Ph.D., (Vice Dean 1 for Education, Research, and Student Affairs), Nanda Ayu Wijayanti, Ph.D. (Vice Dean of FEB UI for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration), and Dr. Dwi Nastiti Danarsari (Manager of Research and Community Service).

Then, representatives from UniKL Business School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilham Sentosa (Associate Professor UniKL Business School), Dr. Mohamad Zulkiflee Osman (UniKL Researcher), and Ms. Farah Hida Sharin (UniKL Researcher).

Dr. Ilham started the discussion by explaining that UniKL Business School is a government-owned private university under Majelis Amanat Rakyat (MARA) Malaysia. Since the university was only established in 2008, he felt the need to learn more from other universities.

For him, UniKL Business School and FEB UI have many similarities in terms of research clusters and their implementation. Therefore, he aims to propose several cooperation programs, including (1) Research & Publication, (2) Academic Staff Mobility, and (3) Student Exchange.

Furthermore, Arief said that FEB UI is always open for stakeholder collaboration. FEB UI has collaborated with several educational institutions abroad that excel in their fields through the Double Degree International Class program. So, students will study for two years at FEB UI and two years at partner universities, including in Australia, the Netherlands, Japan, France, and New Zealand.

“FEB UI has several potential collaboration proposals. First, Student Mobility consists of Short Course, Student Exchange, Immersion Program, Internship Program, Non-Degree and Joint Degree, and Global Field Network (MBA Program). While in terms of Academic Faculty – Staff Mobility, namely Visiting Fellow, Joint Supervision, Joint Authorship, Joint Research, Exchanging Reviewer for International Conference, and Exchanging Editor for International Journal,” said Arief.

Ilham said he was interested in the Joint Supervision program, which supervises theses and produces a double degree or joint degree together. This program allows students to receive high-quality education and unique experiences from 2 (two) different universities.

In addition, he is interested in working together in the Islamic Finance program for S-1 and S-3, the flagship program of UniKL Business School. This program facilitates students to master the concepts and meet the needs of the standard Islamic Finance industry. They will learn to become internationally recognized competent industry experts through the various fields available.

Ilham hopes that UniKL Business School and FEB UI can complement each other and adopt new learning. “Universitas Indonesia is a role model for public universities in ASEAN. I am pleased to have the opportunity to visit and discuss with FEB UI, who welcomed me very well. In the future, we will prepare short-term and long-term cooperation plans. We will try to give our best for this cooperation.” (hs)
