Deni explained briefly how FEBI UIN SGD was finally officially established, marked by the Regulation of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Number 27 of 2020. This faculty was born from the merger of various excellent study programs. After a long journey, from building a foundation, and fighting for accreditation, to preparing to move.

“Considering that FEBI is the youngest faculty at UIN SGD, we must catch up with faculties that have been established for a long time. Therefore, through this comparative study, we are interested in learning a lot from FEB UI in terms of computer laboratory management, especially to support learning patterns and the research process,” he said.

He thanked FEB UI for accepting his visit. Although the FEB UI website already presents complete information, he feels he still needs to discuss it further, especially to complete the FEBI UIN SGD research report.

Arief explained, “Currently, FEB UI has faculty laboratories in Building A (Depok) and the New Extension Library Building (Salemba), which are integrated with the learning and research of the academic community. In addition, each department and several study programs have their laboratories, namely the Department of Economics, Accounting, Department of Management, and Postgraduate Program.”

As part of Universitas Indonesia, FEB uses Single Sign On (SSO), meaning that all facilities require the same username and password. With UI-formatted email, students can access all technology-based learning support facilities, including email access via webmail.ui.ac.id, Google (Google Meet, Form, Docs, Drive), Microsoft 365, Learning Management System, Academic Information System, Pearson textbooks, and UI subscribed journal database.

“Moreover, several courses need computer laboratory support for practicum, including a practicum in marketing research, human resources, finance, and cooperatives. Later, the practicum will help students compile their final work,” he said.

Although the main focus is on laboratories, the discussion is not limited. FEB UI and FEBI UIN SGD also exchange experiences in terms of reputable journal publications, the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, student debriefing programs, and many others.

Finally, a souvenir handover session, a sign of the preparation of FEB UI and FEBI UIN SGD as university partners. The hope is that this visit will be able to add new knowledge and improve quality to achieve optimal learning that is relevant to the needs of the times for both campuses. (mh)
