JAKARTA – Master of Management FEB UI in collaboration with Clear Sky Associate (CSA) held a Grand Final Business Competition which took place in room 216, MM Building, on Monday (11/11/2019).

Clear Sky Associate (CSA) is an NGO based in Switzerland and led by Georges Furone. This CSA has become an annual business competition for MM Masters students in the FEB UI environment as a form of growing the spirit of the younger generation in creating a creative and innovative business.

“The implementation of Clear Sky this year is very good compared to previous years. And this year, the focus is on MM FEB UI and papers that come in are of much better quality and the judges are really focused on choosing projects that can be realized. The initial selection of starting proposals and determining the 3 best teams to advance to the grand final is the authority of MM FEB UI. Clear Sky only sees and judges the finalists who enter the grand final, “Sulistijowati said as a representative of Clear Sky Associate.

The Grand Final Business Competition is divided into three finalist teams, including the Budidaya Kepiting Team consisting of Di-Zenah Rachma, M. Raynadi, Yosep Silaban, the Biogas Power Plant Team consisting of Amdi Ariefianto, Andrew Y. Hengsaputra, Tiophani Naomi, and The Bangun Desa Indonesian Team consists of Hanandi Rahmad Syahputra, Desi Dwi Rahayu, Yosia El Gibort, Fauzan Azhiman.

The Grand Final Business Competition jury came from Clear Sky, namely Sulistijowati, Pradipta Rukmawan, and Tuhu Nugraha. The competition was opened by remarks by Yeshika Alversia as Secretary of the MM FEB UI Study Program and Sulistijowati’s remarks as representatives of Clear Sky Associate.

Each team presented their business in front of the Jury and the participants present. The Budidaya Kepiting Team discusses how to solve the problem of supplying small crabs that are being warmly discussed at local crab breeders, due to the scarcity of natural resources. So we found a solution and found it by cultivating on a laboratory scale to develop the process of crabbing until it becomes crab and can be mass produced. Currently, technology is already available in the Philippines such as crab tightening.

Our team’s research reference data sources were obtained from a research paper then validated by watching YouTube and retrieving from the internet / reliable sources. The innovation made is that we want to bring the business to Indonesia. The hope, with this kind of technology if it can be adopted in Indonesia, it will be an opportunity for crab breeders / other fishery products.

Furthermore, the Biogas Power Plant Team discussed that the Biogas Power Plant was taken from waste in the Bantar Gebang area in the form of sewage (human, animal) and organic waste. There are 3 types of output from biogas, namely methane gas that can be used by Pertamina, electric gas (electricity) that can be sold to PLN, and from all unused waste can be composted and sold to cooperatives so that it can produce benefits. Thus, this market can be sold or used for government, SOEs, and cooperatives. The hope is that we can find investors who can help to run the biogas power plant, because if this happens, we can help the environment and society.

Then, the Bangun Desa Indonesia Team discussed that Bangun Desa is a platform that bridges between the needs of the village and all the potential technologies that exist throughout Indonesia. Thus, there is hope that villages can implement technology from all campuses in Indonesia and research institutions at affordable prices. So, everyone can look back at his village to be productive without moving to the city to work.

Supporting data for this study came from the Ministry of Health as much as 85%, the grant funds were well absorbed by the community. The hope is that all villages will be able to lift their potential well, so that people do not need to look for work in the city and rebuild their villages by farming, plantations, fisheries, and so on to support MSMEs in Indonesia.

From the results of the presentation to the three teams, the Jury decided as the First Winner / Champion, namely the Indonesian Bangun Desa Indonesia Team and managed to get a prize of USD 6000 and souvenirs.

According to Sulistijowati, the jury’s representatives considered that Bangun Desa Indonesia Team was crowned the winner, because their team had actually been running its business project for a year and only needed to be guided again to become better.

The following is the response from the Indonesian Village Build Team which was named the First Winner / Champion:

“I am very grateful to Clear Sky with MM FEB UI for holding a Business Competition as a forum for learning for all of us. In the future, hopefully the business that we submit can be realized well, “explained Desi Dwi Rahayu.

“I feel nervous, happy, touched, and thank you for my friends. Hopefully this will be the first step to the next achievement and get more projects & funds, “said Fauzan Azhiman.

“Feeling happy, because this is the first business competition I participated in. In the future, I hope this project will run well and can build cooperation, “said Hanandi Rahmad Syahputra.

“Finally, this competition can end beautifully, because our team can become the first champion and this victory can be aimed at building a better village,” said Yosia El Gibort.

“To be honest, I helped their team from the beginning backstage and their business is good & is considered to be really going forward. Thank you to MM FEB UI and Clear Sky for giving us this opportunity, “added Gilang Aditya. (Des)
