Nino Eka Putra ~ Humas FEB UI

JAKARTA – Printing superior people is now the focus of the government in emptying Indonesia’s gold. Higher education also became the foundation of superior human resources in the midst of innovation competition in the industrial era 4.0. Indonesian Higher Education in fact faces a number of challenges in giving birth to superior human resources.

In addition, preparing strategies in dealing with demographic bonuses, apparently the issue of intolerance and radicalism has also infiltrated the world of campus. This must also be completed by the Chancellors in each university in Indonesia. Not only that, dealing with the pursuit of achievements at the world level which until now has not been able to penetrate the top 100.

Ranking is used as an instrument or indicator in a university to spur the process of whether universities in Indonesia with Foreign Affairs will have the same quality of education. Competition in the world today is the occurrence of state networks that are reflected by tertiary institutions. So, universities must show that networking is healthy. From there it looks not just a physical product but in it there is technology, innovation, humans, and culture.

“Low citation is caused by low renewal, because it repeats the old and does not increase knowledge. Therefore, to increase knowledge, communication between universities in Indonesia and abroad is needed. Because science is inspiring and inspiring. In addition, the scope of the research cluster must change as well as students must be able to adapt to the new environment. We must create systems related to research groups and student groups so that they can work together & learn to respect others, “said Ari Kuncoro as UI Chancellor and resource person at the Option with Aviani Malik event on Metro TV ‘Lika-Liku SDM excel’, Monday ( 12/2/2019).

Basically, the curriculum in Diploma (D-3) is not balanced between theory and practice. Supposedly, to answer the challenges of the digital age must be changed by focusing 75% based on skills / production / practice competencies and 25% based on general. In fact, it is not yet as expected, due to the difficulty of finding / recruiting lecturers in the field of practitioners or production. What happens is even the number of lecturers in the general field. In addition, technology / laboratories must be updated according to the times.

In preparing superior human resources in industry 4.0, we must update the teaching methods of lecturers to students who previously had to score with high GPA scores, now must teach in two directions to create interpersonal skills. Then, communication was opened between faculties at the University. “For example, economics students must know engineering, computer science, psychology, culture, and so on. So, students can explore a more complete world before plunging into the real world (work), “he explained.

“My program became the Chancellor of UI, wanting to improve UI ranking in the Asian and International arena by making more friendly collaboration / collaboration with other universities in the world that have a reputation,” concluded Ari Kuncoro at the end of the broadcast. (Des)
