Career Insight: Preparing Ourselves to Enter the Workforce During the “New Normal”

Depok – (5/8/2020) The Center for Career and Internship Guidance (PBKM), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (PBKM FEB UI), held a webinar Preparing Ourselves to Enter The Workforce During the “New normal”.

Sri Daryanti, Head of Sub Directorate of Career Development, Graduates and Alumni Relations, Universitas Indonesia (DPKH UI), opened the event by introducing participants to DPKH UI. The speakers for this webinar are Miftahuddin Amin, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Paragon, Ulfah Hasanah, Brand Development Executive of Wardah, and Nurul Andriani, Head of Talent Acquisition at Paragon.

The first speaker, Miftahuddin Amin, gave an introduction and brief information about Paragon. He stated “In order for the company to survive, we must instill cultural values ​​and create a work environment as comfortable as possible and also facilitate employees so they can always innovate. My message to students is to never stop learning.”     .

Nurul Andriani explained the process of recruitment and job selection in the new normal period and compared it with normal conditions, by holding virtual open recruitments, such as using interviewing software, and providing explanations about what must be prepared in the face of the recruitment process and job selection in the new normal period. “Keep preparing yourself, observe/conduct market research on suitable companies and always develop the capabilities and skills that we have even in a pandemic,” Nurul stated.

In the last sharing session, Ulfah Hasanah, who is also an alumni of FE UI class of 2014, shared her experience in joining Paragon after ending her college period and gave tips for the keys to success in applying for a job, both in general situations and in the new normal period.

It is hoped that this event can provide insight to prospective graduates and provide an overview of students and fresh graduates about the recruitment process or selection of job applicants during the different conditions after COVID19. (hjtp)
