Minister Bambang PS Brodjonegoro Receives Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana Award from Indonesian President Joko Widodo
DEPOK – (11/11/2020) Still in a series of commemorating the National Heroes’ Day, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave the Mahaputra and Merit Star awards to 71 recipients at the 2020 Merit and Honor Award ceremony. It was held at the State Palace by implementing strict health protocols, and broadcast live through the Youtube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, Jakarta, on Thursday (11/11).
On this occasion, President Jokowi gave a sign of honor to former high-ranking officials, ministers, former TNI commanders-in-chief, former National Police Chiefs, and medical personnel who died while struggling to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic (represented by their heirs). The recipients were selected based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 118 and 119/TK Year 2020 which were signed on November 6, 2020. The details were: 32 Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana recipients, 14 Bintang Mahaputera Utama recipients, 2 Bintang Jasa Utama recipients, 14 Bintang Jasa Pratama recipients, and 9 recipients of Nararya Services Star.
One of the figures who received the Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana was the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas) for the 2016-2019 Period Bambang PS Brodjonegoro, who currently serves as Minister of Research and Technology / Head of the National Innovation Research Agency (Menristek/BRIN). Minister Bambang hoped that this award can trigger his enthusiasm to contribute more in achieving the vision of an Advanced Indonesia in 2045, especially through innovation, so that he can work better in the future.
Quoting the press release of the Head of the Bureau of Titles, Signs of Service, and Honorary Signs of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Imam Suprayitno, which was published on November 11, 2020, in providing considerations and proposals for the awarding of the honorary certificate, the Council of Titles, Merits and Signs of Honor is guided by Law No. 20 Year 2009 which regulates the criteria for the awarding of merits and honors.
These criteria include excellence and outstanding achievements in pioneering and developing education, economy, social, arts, culture, religion, law, health, agriculture, marine, environment, and/or other fields and have made outstanding contributions in various advantageous fields for the progress, welfare and prosperity of the nation and state.
