LM FEB UI: Strategies to Attract the Best Talents, Employer Branding and Hiring Strategy

Depok – (27/10/2020) The FEB UI Management Institute in collaboration with SWA magazine held an HR Excellence Webinar Series, entitled “Strategies to Attract the Best Talents, Employer Branding and Hiring Strategy” on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Agus Sudarmoko, Head of Human Resource PT Sasa Inti Tbk., explained about Employer Branding and Hiring Strategy, with Bagus Adi Lutfi, Dr. (Cand.), Lecturer and Talent Analytics Specialist LM FEB UI as discussant and Vicky Rachman, SWA Editor as moderator.

Agus Sudarmoko explained his experience at PT. Sasa, in applying employer branding. First, develop an employee value proposition, which offers the company’s value as a point of interest to attract new talent by informing it through all communication channels. Second, implement recruitment marketing, which is the process of promoting the company’s brand externally, using social media with an original and consistent approach. Third, attract: the importance of social media, which is keeping up with the times by using social media in recruitment strategies. Fourth, strategy: job fair – offline & virtual, and fifth, aggressively approach universities for company branding campaigns, internship cooperation, company visits, MoUs, or scholarships.

Sixth, employee referral, an internal method of finding candidates. Employee referral is a structured program used by companies and organizations to find talented people, by asking existing employees to recommend candidates from their existing network. Seventh, behavioral interview techniques, psychological tests and interview tests with the STAR technique (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Eighth, innovation and breakthrough in the selection process by continuously making innovations, such as replacing manual processes with automatic processes through online selection tests. Ninth, onboarding new employees by making new employees feel welcomed and being part of the company, ensuring that new employees have basic information that will enable them to do their job well, understand the organization broadly (vision, mission, culture, and shared values ​​of the company) as well as helping employees to initiate socialization in the company. Finally, improvement by continuously paying attention to the management system, comfortable working environment, and providing compensation.

By implementing this strategy, the impressions rate, follower, engagement rate and new candidates increased rapidly.

Bagus Adi Lutfi, Dr. (Cand.), Lecturer and Talent Analytics Specialist LM FEB UI responded to Agus Sudarmoko’s presentation by adding an explanation on rejuvenating talent acquisition strategy. He also concluded an acquisition scenario for future implementation which will increase Employee Referral, Social Community and Talent Scouting. (hjtp)
