The Signing of Cooperation Agreement between Universitas Jenderal Soedirman and Universitas Indonesia

DEPOK – (7/6/2021) The Faculty of Economics and Business of the Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI), together with Universitas Jenderal Soedirman held a signing of the cooperation of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka program offline at the Djokosoetono Room, Dean’s Building, FEB UI Depok Campus, on Tuesday (7/6).

Also attending the event were Prof. Wiwiek Rabiatul Adawiyah, Ph.D. (Dean of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman), Istiqomah, Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni), Dr. Icuk Rangga Bawono, M.Si., M.H., (Head of PPAK Study Program), Yuniasih Septi Wardhani, S.H. (General Coordinator), and Meike Kusmawanti, S.Si. (Academic and Student Affairs Sub-Coordinator).

While representatives from FEB UI, namely Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D. (Dean of FEB Universitas Indonesia), Nanda Ayu Wijayanti, Ph.D. (Deputy Dean of FEB UI for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration), Dr. Irfani Fithria Ummul Muzayanah, M.S.E., (Head of Student Affairs Office), Isfandiary Djafaar, M.Soc.Sc., (Venture, Cooperation and Alumni Manager), Rintis Dosie Swastika (Head of Legal and Venture, Cooperation and Alumni Section).

Starting the event, Teguh welcomed the presence of FEB Unsoed to FEB UI. In his speech, he thanked and appreciated the dean’s presence and entourage’s presence. He hoped that this cooperation meeting could strengthen the relationship and bring quality improvement to all parties.

Wiwiek explained a little introduction about FEB Unsoed. He explained that his visit was to discuss and sign a collaboration with FEB UI’s Merdeka Learning Campus (MBKM) program, which has been running since 2020. Through this government program, his party wants to continue to broaden its horizons. At the same time, it helps develop education according to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in economics and management.

Teguh said, “The Merdeka Belajar program has provided freedom and opportunities for students to hone their abilities according to their interests. Allows students to be directly involved in various off-campus activities to prepare for future careers.”

“At FEB UI itself, many students choose to study at other universities, both at home and abroad. For them, learning in a new environment can be a memorable experience. As evidenced by the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), the Indonesian government’s scholarship scheme funds students in mobility programs, and 33 FEB UI students have successfully passed the selection at various universities abroad. That is a large number, out of a total of 195 UI students,” she continued.

Then, Wiwiek said that previously, FEB Unsoed had collaborated with FEB UI, precisely with Prof. Dr. Irwan Adi Ekaputra (Head of the Management Department, as an external examiner in student trials. He admitted that he was greatly helped by lecturers from FEB UI who were very competent. Teguh responded that FEB UI is open to more potential collaborations, including lecturers, public lectures, and others.

The signing session and handover of souvenirs is a sign of preparation of Unsoed and UI as university partners in realizing the MBKM program. While regarding the courses and mechanisms during the cooperation, there will be further discussions.

The hope is that the MBKM program policy will be able to design innovative learning, encourage interest in learning, improve quality, and achieve optimal learning outcomes on the two campuses. Thus, graduate competencies are more relevant according to the needs of the times. (hs)
