BEM FEB UI and Leaders Hold DIARI 2022, “Moving on: How is FEB UI Turning Around?”

DEPOK – (30/5/2022) The Department of Advocacy and Student Welfare (ADKESMA) of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI), together with the leadership of FEB UI, held an interactive dialogue (DIARI), entitled “Moving on: How FEB UI Turns?” which took place in a hybrid manner in the Soeria Atmadja Auditorium, Dean’s Building, on Monday (5/30).

DIARI is a forum for FEB UI students to discuss problems and current issues related to the lecture system with FEB UI leaders, namely Dean Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D., Deputy Dean 1 for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Arief Wibisono Lubis, Ph.D., and Deputy Dean 2 for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration Nanda Ayu Wijayanti, Ph.D., as well as representatives of study programs and students.

This year, DIARI raised the topic of the lecture system at FEB UI in the future, considering the pandemic conditions are getting better. The dialogue began with a presentation of the DIARI survey results, which had been open for 12 days, followed by a discussion session in the form of responses from the Chairperson and representatives of the FEB UI study program.

Teguh Dartanto said, “We decided that lectures will be conducted face-to-face next semester. Whether it is limited depends on the conditions, so next semester ‘by default’ FEB UI will certainly conduct Face-to-Face Meetings (PTM).”

In addition to points about the clarity of the lecture system next semester, the discussion also produced several points, including:

1. Opening the FE Canteen (KaFE) with a cashless payment method (QRIS), but the first review is whether the tenants are willing or not;

2. Expansion of wifi coverage in FEB UI;

3. Improvement of committee and organization support facilities;

4. Seeing that the current academic year for the course graduation rate is still high, the short semester was decided not to be held. In addition, FEB UI will focus more on AACSB;

5. Finding ways for a better and more effective academic advisor system;

6. Evaluation of Lecturers (EDOM) is used to assess lecturers. Lecturers who receive unfavorable comments will be called and submitted to the study program;

7. Technical UAS will be supervised by academic staff (Tendik); if there is suspicion of cheating, it will be written in the minutes. Then, it will be given to the lecturer to be investigated and followed up.
